Compass Regional Hospice
Compass Regional Hospice chose Mary Lou Schoonover of Greensboro as the volunteer of the month.
Schoonover supports Compass Regional Hospice primarily as a patient care volunteer in Caroline County. She also helps with fundraising and community outreach events.
“As a volunteer, Mary Lou provides companionship and respite for caregivers whose loved ones are receiving hospice care and services through our Bridges pre-hospice program,” says Courtney Williams, manager of volunteer and professional services for Compass Regional Hospice. “Her caring spirit and calming presence can be felt by many and we are lucky she is a part of our program.”
Compass Regional Hospice relies on more than 300 volunteers of all ages to perform administrative tasks, assist with events, visit patients and lend a hand in the gardens at the Hospice Center located at 255 Comet Drive in Centreville. Volunteers also operate Estate Treasures, an upscale resale shop in Chester that raises funds for Compass Regional Hospice.

Even though I have asked everyone to see ChesaDel Crier for Caroline County Arts and Entertainment News, sometimes something comes across the desk that needs to be shared.
