Come join the fun at the Linchester Mill’s Antiques and Art Show on Saturday, October 11th, a day filled with antiques, history, art, food, music and fun! The event, which will take place from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm at the historic Linchester Mill, will feature more than 40 quality antique and art dealers.
In addition to a large number of quality antique dealers, the event will also feature live music, food vendors and artisan demonstrations.
Attendees will be able to tour the Linchester Mill, one of the last operating water powered mills on the Eastern Shore that Charles Kuralt described as “treasure of America” because its original equipment reflects the long evolution of American milling. The Linchester Mill Campus also includes the recently restored Hog Island Schoolhouse, the Miller and Assistant Miller’s Houses and a Nature Braille Trail.
Admission to the event is $5 or $2 with a copy of this article. Proceeds support the Caroline County Historical Society.

Outstanding Dreams Farm
Preston, MD – August, 2014 – Outstanding Dreams Farm invites you to their 6th Annual Alpaca Festival on Saturday, September 20th from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm and Sunday, September 21st from noon- 5:00 pm. The farm, which is located at 24480 Pinetown Road in Preston, is home to more than 25 Huacaya Alpacas and a gift shop featuring one-of-a-kind merchandise crafted from Alpaca fiber.
The event will feature fun for the whole family, including fiber arts demonstrations, craft and food vendors, children’s activities, and of course, lovable Alpacas and their products. Attendees will also be able to meet the owners of Outstanding Dreams Farm, Phil and Vickie Liske, and learn about the wonderful world of alpacas.
Visitors to the festival will find a variety of products crafted from alpaca fleece at the Outstanding Dreams Farm Store. Alpaca fleece is a soft and durable fiber that is renowned for it’s hypoallergenic qualities, and the shop carries an array of products made from the luxurious natural fiber. Products available for purchase include scarves, clothing, hats, children’s toys, raw fiber and more.

Community Club of Preston
The Community Club of Preston is hosting a Country Christmas House Tour on Saturday, December 7, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Five homes in and near Preston will be on tour.
Tickets are $15.00 and may be purchased in advance by calling 410-310-5454 or 410-673-7193. Cash or checks only.
They may also be purchased the day of the tour at Bethesda United Methodist Church, 155 Main Street, Preston. Free refreshments will be available to tour guests at the church, and live music will be performed at the church throughout the day.
Homemade Christmas cookies will also be available for purchase. Please no high heels, smoking, or interior photography in the tour homes. No children under 12 are permitted on the tour.

This spring, homeschoolers will welcome the spring season with hands-on exploration of plant and animal life cycles when Adkins Arboretum offers The Science of Spring for Home School Students. Students in grades 2 through 5 will use microscopes to study organisms at the cellular level, dissect flowering plants, investigate metamorphosis in a stream study, and much more.
This six-week program runs Mondays, April 8 to May 13, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The fee is $55 for members, $70 for the general public, with a $10 discount for siblings. Advance registration is required at adkinsarboretum.org or by calling 410-634-2847, ext. 0.
